‘SAWWER AL CHEF’
Jacaranda Images and Darat al Tasweer will announce the results of the 3rd photographic competition ‘Sawwer Al Chef’ on Saturday 15 October at Jacaranda Images where an exhibition of the finalist’s entries will take place. The competition was open to both amateur and advanced photographers to present their photos which celebrate chef’s and their passion for food.
Jordanians are serious about their food – mensaf and kanafeh, 5 star restaurants, local cafes, family lunches and roadside bbqs make up some of the great food experiences in Jordan. The finalists in the competition have photographed chefs in a wide range of settings from the Dead Sea to Wadi Rum, in kitchens and outdoors, and all the photos embody the passion and care that preparing good food involves.
This year 16 finalists in each category have been chosen for the exhibition which will run until 30 October. The jury for the competition consisted of internationally acclaimed photographer Tariq Dajani, and the winner of the previous 2 competitions Mohammad Naif, along with the owners of Jacaranda Images and Darat al Tasweer.
Despite regional turmoil, the tourism and hospitality industry is continuing to grow as Jordan remains a favoured destination known for its unique attractions. With many new hotels, restaurants and cafes opening all the time, the tourism industry needs people to join the profession and this competition, now in its third year, is building awareness for people to join the industry.
